OUR PROGRAMS

OUR PROGRAMS ARE CHANGING THE FATE OF AUSTIN'S HOMELESS.

PACKAGES OF LOVE

Our Packages of Love program helps to provide the homeless with materials to create a better quality of life. Our packages include food, water, blankets, hygiene products, encouraging notes, a job information form, clothing, and much more. We would love to get our volunteers involved in creating and delivering the packages. Our packages are put together using donated items and hand written notes. We prefer that the children make cards or letters to put in the package while the adults sort food and clothing. Everyone is able to make a difference in our Packages of Love program.

Our Care for the Children program ensures that children in schools are able to get proper nourishment while at school. Many parents are unable to provide breakfast and dinner to their children, but when they go to school, we want to provide them with the nutrients they need during lunch. We will also try to set up breakfast opportunities at school. We want to provide students with free breakfast and lunch, which means that students must qualify for this care. We will also use some of our donations to help provide these meals. The students who struggle with hunger and don't go to school, will be eligible for our education portion of Care for the Children. In this program we set children up with a school near them that is willing to help with our cause. These schools with provide special education and nourishment to the children based on their situation. We hope to help many of the 2,000 food insecure children in Austin.

INTERVIEWS OF OPPORTUNITY

Our Interviews of Opportunity program connects homeless teens and adults with companies looking for workers. The first step is to collect information regarding a worker's interests. We will then look for jobs that include some of their interests. We want our homeless to be able to support themselves through a secure job. We will look for higher paying jobs that require little to no college education. Once we have found a job for a client, we will help them with their resume and interview. We will talk to may of the companies to provide them with information regarding our client. We believe that a person is more stable in supporting themselves, than in getting help from a food bank. We understand that sometimes that is the situation life gives us, but we would like to see the homeless take their own action. So we are here to help and support in their efforts. In return, we ask that in their free time, our clients come and volunteer with us. We hope to keep the cycle going round.
